CACAO HUSK TEA

Cacao husk tea is brewed from the thin shells that cover each cacao bean. When we make chocolate, we save the husks from our Malaysian cacao instead of throwing them away. The tea smells like chocolate but drinks like a light herbal tea, with no added sugar.
Steep one bag in hot water for 5 minutes. Add milk or honey if you like, or brew it strong and pour it over ice.

It's light and smooth, with a gentle cocoa aroma. It isn't as rich as hot chocolate.
How do I brew it?
Use one tea bag with 250ml of hot water and steep for 3–5 minutes. For iced tea, brew double strength and pour over ice. Read our cacao husk tea guide for more recipes.
